PROJECT SCHEDULE

October 2007 | Presentation of the participants through e-mail letter exchange; Sharing of contact details and agreement on the contact frequency; Presentation of the headmasters of both schools; Presentation of the teachers who will facilitate the project implementation; Establishment of communication protocol; Project presentation – definition of the goals and outlining the activities; Definitions of success criteria; Setting the necessary facilities for on-line communication and training; Designing a power-point presentation of all project participants. | All participants |
November 2007 | Exchange of the Power-point presentations of both teams; Sharing information about the schools – structure, rules, academic and sports culture, etc. Producing the first training material – presentation of the Bulgarian Alphabet; /The Bulgarian team will take the role of the tutor during the first year of the project and the Italian team will be the learner/ Planning the range of topics /everyday situations/ that will be covered in the language training; Beginning of on-line meetings – twice a week, aiming at Bulgarian Language teaching/learning; Starting the preparation of the Holiday Calendars of both countries; Establishment of a Project Notice Board in both schools which will give publicity about the project activities; | All participants The Bulgarian team of students and teachers |
December 2007 | Giving publicity of the project activities to the local community through the local newspapers, radio stations and other media; On-line language teaching / learning – continues on a twice-a-week basis; Exchange of Holiday Calendars; Observing these Calendars and greeting the partners on the special occasions /to be placed in the resource centre/ will be an on-going task; Exchange of Christmas Greeting Cards and letters, describing how the holiday is celebrated in Bulgaria / Italy. The language of correspondence will be English which is studied in both schools. Start designing a short Power – point presentation of both Bulgaria and Italy and the towns where our schools are. | All participants |
January 2008 | Exchange of presentations of the countries and towns; On-line language teaching / learning – continues on a twice-a-week basis; Initiating research on historical data about the origin of our alphabets and their spread and importance – class discussions during the lessons of History; collection of materials, announcing a contest among the students in the school for a presentation of the information in writing or drawing / start at the beginning of the month/; Start designing the joint project website; | All participants |
February 2008 | Finalizing the contest and awarding the winners /at the end of the month/; Sending copies of the best presentations to the partner school thus acquainting the partners with the historical background of the origin of both alphabets; Establishing in both schools a Bulgarian / Italian resource centre with the materials collected so far about the respective country, town, partner school, historical information; Mid-evaluation of the activities and measuring the success – questionnaires On-line language teaching / learning – continues on a twice-a-week basis; | All participants |
